Week 2

Ill start with the story of how our shower was fixed. we met this guy on the street that is an electrician, i think. He said that he could look at the shower and give us un estimate. On last Pday he showed up and looked at it, thought it would be a quick fix so he disided to do it right then. It was not a quick fix. We didnt get lunch before because we thought it would be quick, and we had no food in the house,so we waited without food for 4 hours. He didnt have an idiot light so he litterally cut one of our lights out of the ceiling and used it as an idiot light. That poor 60 whatt light didnt stand a chance. He used it to check the current across the curcuit brakers and it burnt out after the 3rd one. So now we have a shower and no light, we need to buy a lightbulb today. But a blind warm shower is much better than a cold shower with light. but that is only the beginning of the story. The problem was with the wiring, there had actually been an electrical fire inside our wall, good thing it is cement. the wires were melted and black, but the plastic tube they had layed in the cement for the wires had also melted and was now a chunck of plastic. So he cut a whole in the wall to get out the plastic tube so he could re wire the shower. by the way the shower head is where the water is heated and it has two temperatures hot and cold. so in cutting this whole he put cement chips and tile bits all over my newly cleaned bathroom. but as long as the shower worked i was fine with it. I have no idea where he got the wire from to rewire the shower, he didnt come in with any and i dont think that we had any extra laying around. I susspect that he unwired the light in the spare room, because Elder ramos and him talked in and pointed at the room for a while, i dont know any electical words exept light and electicity so i have no idea what they were talking about. And i also found out that becuase the water smells weird so do your clothes after they are washed. im getting used to it but it is weird to have a smell follow you around. This week was alot of work. This sunday we had 5 children with us in church, and one adult. she was the mother of one of the girls the other 4 were all sisters and the oldest was 8. Their mom is an investigator but cant come to church. that was fun. We were supposed to baptise Carol last sunday, but she didnt show, we found out that she was sick. This week hopefully she and her mom will be baptised. but her mom still has a problem with smoking. I had my first interview with the president yesterday, it was good. I like president Teixeida. we have met some really cool people this week. Hopefully a few of them will be baptised. In answer to the question of how do people pronounce my name the answer is heecemey (that is the closest pronunciation in English) they cant make an r or en sound. In portugese r makes a h sound and en doesn´t exist, they try to pronounce it em but sence the next letter is m they just end up leaving out the n. i respond to anything close. I met someone that knew Matt Risenmay this week, Her boyfriend was going on splits with us. I cant remember her name.
goodbye for now,
Elder Risenmay
