Week 8

Week 8 was a very intresting one. I read the entire book of mormon. All 531 pages in 18 hours over 7 days. I finished it on sunday. I also got super angry at Elder Karr. I was tempted to cause him considerable bodily harm. It is alright now, but in the moment he is lucky I kept myself under controll. I do not mean for this to be negative or abrasive to Elder Karr, but it will be none the less. He is a professional singer so he has a great voice. That is not what bothers me, he sings alot, that doesnt bother me either, other than the fact that he sings only cleche songs. but what make me angry is how he as a following of brazilian groupies. It annoys me to no end when he sings to his groupies. The same three songs. We were heading back to class after practicing with a brazilian district and we were walking by the electric pianos that are in the auditorium, the Brazians started saying 'canta canta' sing sing. Then he just jumps on a piano and starts to play and sing. We were supposed to be in class and i was sick of hearing that stupid song so i unpugged the piano and told him we were going NOW! I was seriously about to hit him in the face. So I am glad to be about to get out of here in a week. > But that aside we did do an awesome job with prosyliting we passed out everything they gave us in under 2 hours. Since we had nothing else to do because our van wasnt going to be back for one more hour with promission we went to mcdonalds. It was nice to have some greasy american food. We talked to people in mcdonalds about the gospel but didnt have anything to give them, we wrote down the information of one lady and sent it to the Sao paulo north missionaries. I am writing the full story of this in my letter to you so i will abridge some things. There are two funny stories to tell and i will tell one of them, the other is in my letter. Actually this one itsnt all that funny, but the other one will have you rolling on the ground. We were talking to this man, mainly elder Karr, when someone else walked by that looked very intrested, i broke off and started talking to that man. He had some deep questions to ask. I shorty found out that he had read the book of mormon and about every other religious text out there including the apocrafa(sp?). I talked to him about the book of mormon first and he said that he beleived in it. But he said he needed some questions answered, I being neive of the complexity of his questions said ask. He then asked me several questions concerning mormon doctrine incuding polygomy and baptizms for the dead and some intresting questions about the apocrafa. I was able to answer all his questions to some degree until he asked me something concerning the arch angel Rafeal, i had no idea what he said, so seeing my instructer, Irmão Borges neer by I asked for him to come and see if he could answer the mans question. The man was not trying to bible bash, he just had some very deep questions, I kept trying to bring the conversation back toward simple truthes but he would just quickly agrea with me and then spew out another complicated question. I wish i had had my bilble on me, I only had the book of mormon that the CTM had given me to pass out. Because Ann doesnt get my letters i will send her my other story, and if you cant wait to hear it you can email her to get it. I think I will stop there. I am running out of time on the computer.
