I will say again that my perception of time is completely shot.
We worked so hard last week and just about nothing out of it. We had to postpone 2 baptisms this week because of large problems, we also had 4 days this week where we had 2 or less lessons, not from lack of trying. We had 13 marked appointments fall through and in one day we went to 12 houses without anyone there, 4 of which we had marked the hour with them before hand. We ran around so much this week that I developed a severe cramp in my left leg that i still have, though not as bad now. I lost a lot of sleep because of the cramp, every time i would more in bed I would wake up because of the pain. But I continued to work and walk anyway, I was going to have a miserable time with my leg no matter what so I might as well be doing something of worth. So this week was in general difficult and not fun. We have 22 people with a date of baptism marked, and none of them went to church this week, we talked to them confirmed with them, arranged rides for them and offered to walk with them, and not one went to church, some of them we will have to more there date back because they haven't been to church yet. We did by some miracle have 4 investigators in church, they were all the younger siblings of members of the ward, we have already taught some of them, but now we are focusing more on them. Most of them there parents are not members.
Also we got more word about Elder Allred's run away companion, he had returned to the mission but then way ordered back home by the president because he had broken a lot of commandment including the seventh while on the mission (Ill let you figure out what the seventh is by yourself, but ill give you a hint: its really obvious). So Elder Allred has been a little down because he thinks that he should have done something to prevent that from happening. he had no idea it had ever happened until he was told. So in all there is not much good news for the work this week, Maua is a tough area, I have learned that it is famous for 2 things, big hills and no baptisms. I cant do anything about the hills but we are doing our best to fix the baptism part. Yesterday we had a hard day also, we only had 2 lessons, one of them was a very unsuccessful round of bible bashing. Don't worry I am not down at all. I am actually finding the situation amusing.
For mothers day the number to call is (11) 4543 3456 I do not know how to call brazil so you are on your own with that, this is the house of a sister in the ward that lets us use her phone on sundays to call in our numbers and also gives us cake as we do so, she is very nice. Irma Helena. Brazilians use the first name not the last name with brother and sister. Call at 7:00 São Paulo time which i believe is 4 hours different and is 3:00 your time, but please dont take my work for it, check and make sure that is right. Everyone is getting really excited about calling home except me, I didn't even notice how close mothers day was until my companion reminded me give you the information. But you know me. I am just focusing on what needs to get done, and that is a substantial amount of things. The rule is 40 minutes for the phone call, though everyone goes over by about 10 minutes.
Love you all
