Week 6

First off is that i am still in maua. Transfers were today but we stayed the same. All of Maua is the same except for one missionary. It is funny because that was the missionary that seemed least likely to be transfered. Elder Pereira was trained this last transfer and was moved to some Part of Sao Paulo. He will be replaced by another brasilan that actually has more time then Elder Homer, (his companion) but
elder Homer is senoir companion.
This next transfer will only be 5 weeks, I have no idea why but thus it will be. My companion has been sick today so I read alot of scriptures so my language might be allittle more scriptural in this e-mail. He is either really sick or acting it up, because he was laying in bed all day mouning whenever he moved, I dont know what is wrong his simptems are completely random. He has muscle aches in his shoulders and upper back, has a cough and a head ache. He took some Ibuprofen for his head ache and muscle aches but it only helped his head ache, and his cough was of course uniffected, his cough wasnt bad and we didnt think it smart to give him different medication for that when we didnt know how it would react with the ibuprofen, I didnt think it would have any bad affect but it wasnt my body that we were trying to help so Elder Allred didnt take anthing for the cough, the cough kept him from sleeping because when he coughed it caused his shoulders to ache. I got some great rest, read alot of scriptures, cleaned the house alittle and did some exercises.

Unfortunately this last week the sun came back and it was 27 one day, It is difficult for me to think in F now but i think that is about 80 or 85. But that is way hot especially for the equivelent of november. The start of the week was better it was more like 22 or 24 durring the day, today it was sunny for about three hours and got quite hot but then the clouds came in so it will likely be a pleasent afternoon and a warm night. The heat doesnt get me as much as the direct sun.

I forgot to say so in my note to Blake about the play house but happy birthday. I realize it was two days ago but there is not much I can do about exact days. Also I beleive Megalith is a great name for it.

Unfortunately we were not able to get a baptism this last week. We has two lined up and were great and ready to go, they had been to church 3 times in 4 weeks and had all the lessons and seemed excited for baptism. Then everything went wrong. Namely the family found out what they were planning to do and attacked. The girl, Karina, didnt stand a chance, her cousin convinced her aunt, who is also her gaurdian that has to sign the baptismal form, that Karina is to young to be baptised and that she has no idea of what she is doing. She is only 12, but she is has a stong testimony but was not willing to stand up to her family and told us, after we had been talking to her family for about an hour about her baptism, that she didnt want to get baptised anymore. Then there is Jose Silvio Dos Santos, he goes by all of his names, first he introduced himself as Jose, but his family all calls him Dos Santos, and then at church he introduced himself to the gospel principles call as Silvio. But Jose was really stong untill he got a new job. He actually was strong at first with the job too, he with only 2 days on the job told his boss that he had to get all sundays off, against his primary hiring conditions. He got the sundays off and continued to go to church, but then when Karina gave in he didnt have much desire to continue. And decided not to get baptised also. It is really sad, I havent had anyone as excited about the gospel as Karina. But with out her aunts permission we cant baptise her. And her cousin is now taking her to her church every week. We will still try to work with them but it looks allittle hopeless.

However we did come across a great family that lives right next to our house, there are 9 people in the family. They all are reading the book of Mormon and two of them already have answers, including the mother, the family consists of a mother 6 children and a daughter in law and the child of the couple. We do have the problem that the son and daughter in law are not actually married but we are working on it. the baby is also not of baptising age so we are really working with 8 people, but they are great. Also one other investigator that we have is a lady that is very accepting of the gospel and has already prayed about the book of mormon and knows that it is true and accepts all messages. She would already be baptised if she were married, Elder Allred said something really funny about there marriage. We were teaching her and her husband, and elder Allred was getting really excited and was like, 'why dont you get married as soon as possible, like monday or even tomorrow.' She replied 'I dont know if we can, I mean i have to invite people and my dad works alot.' After ward Elder Allred said that he had never even concidered that they would want to invite people to there wedding, I even beleive he said, 'As a man I had never even considered it.'
That was really funny. I need to go for now. I love you all.
