We had a good week followed by a weird sunday. I will start with sunday.
It was the day of the Curitiba temple dedication. Sacrament meeting was held for the entire stake at 11:00. Because of the later time we thought it would be easier to get people to agree to come. We found that the "that's really early" excuses are easily replaced by "Ill already be gone." we went to 5 houses sunday morning and 4 of them were conspicuously empty. Because it was raining the other man said that he would take his car instead of walking with us. We walked to sacrament meeting alone, but Leila (who will be baptized on saturday)and Matias (this other man) did come. But sacrament meeting was very strange. They showed a video about keeping the chapel clean and respecting church property. Brazilians litter badly and are generally inconsiderate of public and private property. So it was probably necessary, but I didn't think it was appropriate for sacrament meeting, and I didn't know what to tell Matias, it was his first time to church and the only other speaker also spoke on an odd subject. He spoke about upholding and respecting our leaders, also a subject needing to be addressed. But it was one of those why this week moments. Why not two weeks ago when no one came with us?
We went to the dedication broadcast in the afternoon, it was very good. Elder Nelson and President Monson were there. Elder Nelson even spoke a little Portuguese. It went very well.
That night I got hit with a stomach ache that was killer. We had to go home early. We had a member with us so we tried to go out again after 40 minutes but It was not any better and walking made it worse. Today I am fine. The member (Marcio) Looked at my pictures when I was resting and commented on the beauty of my sisters. All of you should feel complimented, especially Candice. He thought that you were my girlfriend at first because of the picture of us on the football field sideline.
The week was fairly boring, and I cant remember much of it, so I will stop here for now.
Love you
